We've had our dog since she was just a pup at 10 weeks, and now she's nearly 8. Throughout this time, we've faced multiple claims that this company has turned down! First, she had a cruciate injury in her leg, and they said, 'Oh, we don’t cover that for large breeds!' Then there was an ear infection that needed surgery, but they claimed they couldn't cover it because she had prior ear issues (which came after we took out the policy, so it shouldn't count as a pre-existing condition). Since we opted to pay the initial £50 treatment instead of claiming and facing a £100 excess, they decided to deny any future ear treatments. The most recent issue was a lump (thankfully non-cancerous), but they refused coverage because she isn't neutered! Seriously, don’t throw your money away on insurance from this company! Over the past 8 years, we've shelled out nearly £10,000, plus vet bills, and we've only seen £750 back. They are terrible and will always find a loophole to reject your claims! Our policy started at £45, but they've hiked it up to £140 over the years, all because of the dog's age! Just steer clear!

Our pup Nala has been dealing with some lameness in her front right leg. Pet Protect has been awesome in processing each claim as we submitted them—for diagnostic tests and meds at different points while the vets experimented with various treatments to identify and fix her issue.

I got insurance for my puppy through Pet Protect and was thrilled to find out they would cover the removal of a retained testicle, provided the pup was insured before hitting 3 months (since puppies can have a retained testicle that usually drops before they turn 6 months). Feeling good about my decision to insure him right away, I went ahead and applied for coverage. Unfortunately, my claim got turned down because the issue was discovered within 15 days of starting the policy. So, in essence, my claim was denied just because I took my pup to the vet as soon as I could. If I had waited 16 days to get him checked, it would’ve been a different story. It’s just ridiculous that my responsible actions as a dog owner ended up hurting my claim. Not the kind of message they should be sending out.

If I could give zero stars, I totally would.
